Constant crashes if VLC not running

Hi, I'm using the latest version and unfortunately, the plugin crashes several times per minutes if vlc is not running. I think the plugin sould handle more gracefully this situation as to avoid filling the windows log of app crashes report. What do you think? Thanks in advance for taking the time
