Feature Request - CIDR Ping

Open Dubz opened this issue 3 years ago • 3 comments

It would be great if we could enter an IP range with CIDR notation and begin pinging all the IPs within that range in separate host windows. Sometimes I need to ping an IP block for new ISP installs. Adding /29 on one window (then have it split to separate windows) would be easier than initiating 5-6 separate pings.

Might also be good to have a configurable limit in the settings, so if I mistype I don't accidentally open /2 instead of /29.

Hello @Dubz, do you know about the List you get when pressing "F2"? There you can quickly add muliple lines and if neccessary change some IPs. For everyone who needs a larger list i searched the web and found this site that generates a list you can copy paste into the "F2" dialog. http://magic-cookie.co.uk/iplist.html

That can be useful to some extent, but I'd still have to type out the IPs and adjust accordingly, which is what I'm already doing.

This could be useful for larger subnets, but I don't see why it couldn't just be incorporated internally to save time and focus more on the job at hand. The flexibility and use is one of the many reasons I enjoy using vmPing!

When I have time to update this project again, I'll look into adding something like this. This should hopefully be soon!
