add all POI with names
I have recently rediscovered Qwant maps (great work in the last year and a half, it looks great now).
From what gather from some previous issues, it seems that Qwant map only import POIs from OSM that have a specific tag.
Would it be possible to import all POI that have a name? Or at least make them searchable and have a category "show all POI".
Motivation: Because of the flexibility of OSM, some features that do not have an obvious tag may end up being attributed to different tags depending on who is mapping OSM. Consequently, some same features will appear on Qwant maps while others won't. This is not a hypothetical issue, I have observed this problem in the region where I live.
Could you elaborate on what the issue is? Give a list of the nodes you have seen what the problems with those nodes are. Can the problems be solved by editing the map? Why not edit the nodes to reflect what the map renderers actually use? Or is a new and extended node tagging practice not being implemented by Qwant maps?
Sorry if I was not clear. This problem cannot be solver by editing the map. I believe it is the last option that I am referring to:
Every feature (nodes, area, line) from OSM which has the tag "name" filled with something could (should?) be imported.
If it has a name, it means someone might want to look for it. There are many examples but here are two in particular:
- Some buildings have names (especially in universities) and these are used de facto as addresses
- Some residential areas have names used to denote a community. This is fairly common in the US but not in France.
Another case: post offices in France are not clickable. For example, I can't view the opening hours of the post office Paris Goncourt with Qwant Maps.
