Problem Description
We would like to use VIPrivacy in our company on our managed devices. However, on initial install, VIPrivacy requires the user to set the initial settings such as:
- Level of Protection
- ...
Proposed Solution
It would be handy, if those settings could be intially set by the corporation using the chromium/firefox managed storage api Bitwarden does have a managed-schema, which might become useful as a reference:
https://github.com/bitwarden/clients/blob/main/apps/browser/src/managed_schema.json
Otherwise the official docs of google:
or mozilla:
Alternatives Considered
Alternatives would be to guide every single employee (we're 100+) on how to setup VIPrivacy correctly.
Additional Information
No additional information. But I've been using VIPrivacy for quite a while and just wanted to say: I love it. Thank you for your work
Thanks for the support and the suggestion to improve the adoption of our extension. We are in the process of redefining our strategy regarding extensions, including the evolution of manifest V3 for the "tracking protection" part. We have the possibility of offering companies deployment via GPO, but this will not meet your precise need to predefine parameters before installation. Our technical teams are not currently in a position to carry out this evolution, but we are adding it to our backlog and hope to be able to process it in the coming months.
