Images are not displayed properly - are zoomed in or magnified

Images are displayed zoomed in or magnified - need to scroll around to view images properly. Happens in both mobile and PC. Many people have reported the issue in the baconit subreddit as well.

It is possible to zoom in and out using control plus mouse wheel, and the zoom level can snap to shrink to fit. The problem is that I cannot default to shrink to fit. Sometimes the next image is shrink to fit, but then other images are unscaled and cut off because of that. Needing to constantly readjust zoom ruins the experience for subreddits with big images, like /r/EarthPorn.

Is there still no workaround for this?
