Multi-select tabs

Hi!

In my opinion this is basif functionality that's missing from panorama from the get go. It's incredibly cumbersome to move several tabs into a different group. Most of the time I don't know when I'd rather split the tabs into different groups, only when they pile up. At which point I don't want to mess around for minutes separating them into a new group. I can't just select several in sequence/one-by-one to just move them.

This would be very desirable. A better way to move lots of tabs to another group is right at the top of my wishlist for this addon.

+1 from my side. Sometimes I start investigating a topic in my Daily Usage group, and after 4/5 relevant pages reviewed I want to move that set to another thematic group (ie Investment / Development / ...), and the only action available is moving tabs one by one.

There's a bug for multi select for Firefox filed on Bugzilla. It might be worth keeping an eye on that or doing the work there and reaping the benefits here.

:+1: Tab Groups are great idea but without the ability to manipulate multiple tabs at the same time it is pointless for power users (500+ tabs).

:+1:, would be very helpful for my workflow. As an addition to this, would it be possible to select all child tabs of a tree-style nested tab structure? Moving deeply nested tab structures across tab groups is pretty cumbersome atm, though I know this is a pretty niche use case.

The best way to accomplish this currently, is to use Multiple Tab Handler (for those that didn't know).

I use it everyday and it's fully compatible with Tab Groups. :)

I also believe this would be an extremely useful addition. In the manage view I think it could be very easily implemented in an intuitive way.

Why is it necessary?

  • I often open new tabs in the current group. It is only after I realize that I want to keep them open and move them to a new group that I open the manage interface. There are times when I have tens tabs that I need to move to a new group and one at a time is painful.
  • I also tend to use groups for research and find that when a group gets too large that I will split it into more specific groups.

Please change the manage interface to work the way Firefox "open all bookmarks" works.

  • Treat tab groups as lists (which they are) in the manage view. This means standard click to select, shift click to extend, and control click to add/remove from selection would be intuitive.
  • Double click would also work as it does everywhere else in most GUI interfaces by initiating an action.
  • This would fix the problem that I often have, which is that I am trying to click and drag and sometimes I end up releasing the mouse button too soon which opens the tab. This is extremely frustrating. Sometimes it also happens because I forget that the manage interface treats clicks as if they were simple web page links.

Awesome add-on!
