Feature suggestion: limit ctrl-tab previews to current tab group

Bug 808540 changed ctrl-tab with browser.ctrlTab.previews enabled work between all tabs in the browser, and not just the current tab group.

Would it be possible to create a preference to restore the previous behaviour? FWIW, this is the patch they applied. Here is a patch (on the reverted version) which adds a (hidden) preference, but Dão didn't deem it worthwhile to at this pref to Firefox.
