Passive mobcap is being completely ignored, causes massive lag

Open xEmberx opened this issue 3 years ago • 4 comments

The passive mobcap is being completely ignored with quickcarpet installed, this is causing massive amounts of lag on my friend and I's server. gnembon's carpet mod also appears to do this, but nowhere near to the extent that quickcarpet is doing it. Running on the latest full release (2.4.0), we have seen the passive mobs spike upwards of 1000 animals in total over a large distance and about 500-600 if together.

Are you sure these mobs are caused by spawning? Minecraft generates a lot of passive mobs during world generation. As far as I know quickcarpet doesn't influence the check for space in the mobcap.

Pretty sure, just did a test where I loaded a new world followed by killing everything, then killing all subsequent drops.

I have also experienced this on a quickcarpet server.
