1.17.2 getting stuck selecting filtered chunks

Describe the bug MCA Selector 1.17.2 Minecraft world 1.18.1 + many mods

I'm trying to prepare a modded server world for a modpack update that has new and/or bugfixed world generation features. I want to delete all "uninhabited" chunks. When running the selection filter, MCA Selector stalls on r.2.0.mca. Selection filtering must be manually canceled.

When canceled the selection appears to be complete but it just seems to stall when it should have been finished

I've been testing the same world files repeatedly to learn the best methods for selection filtering. The bug is inconsistent, but it happens often enough to be annoying. I haven't noticed any correlation between what selection filters are chosen and whether or not the selection filtering stalls.

As far as I am aware the region being stalled on is unoccupied.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Start Selection filtering
2. Wait for selection filtering to complete or stall

Expected behavior Selection filtering shouldn't stall or should have some kind of timeout and indication when selection filtering of a particular region is taking longer than expected.

This may be anecdotal, but I found that zooming all the way out before deleting the chunks solves this issue on my end.
