Changes to a more standardise keyboard shortcuts

Describe the bug Currently some keyboard shortcuts are not the same as other programes and don't make much sense. ctrl + D is for delete rather than the delete key. Deselect is Ctrl + L rather then Esc or Ctrl + D.
