sys-audio sometimes does not show up in the Qubes Devices widget
Qubes OS release
Qubes OS 4.2
Brief summary
Sometimes when I want to attach a USB device to sys-audio (as that's why the qube was created in the first place, to handle USB audio devices), it does not show up as a valid target in the Qubes Devices widget. Other Qubes like sys-net, personal, etc. do show up.
Unfortunately this is quite random and sometimes sys-audio does show up after a reboot.
Steps to reproduce
- Reboot Qubes
- Occasionally after reboot
sys-audiodoes not whow up in the Qubes Devices widget
Expected behavior
sys-audio as a target in the menu.
Actual behavior
No sys-audio in the menu.
Additional information
Attaching devices via qvm-usb works.
If there's any logs I could provide to help with debugging, I'll gladly help.
For some ungodly reason this seems to almost always happen on one of my machines running Qubes OS and almost never on another. Usually I'd say "I probably misconfigured something" but the other machine is a full clone of the original machine's OS and only differs in the hardware...
Also affects r4.3 (rc3).
Update: It seems that this happens for qubes at random, sometimes some qubes just do not show up as attach options in qui-devices. Killing the widget and letting it restart seems to fix the issue. Wonder what could be done to prevent it, though?
