As discussed with Marek on forum, a post upgrade hook for Archlinux to reset updates-available feature of archlinux template on successful upgrades.

Marek:

a hook might be useful to reset the flag after manual updates too.

An alpm-hooks(5) hook for pacman to notify dom0 about successful manual upgrades.
