The problem you're addressing (if any)

The details pane on the Update tool is too small to see important information. On this machine I see only 6 lines of text.(I do have many templates.) I assume the template list is reducing the size of the "details" pane.

The solution you'd like

Panes should resizable. During the update process itself the template/standalone list is not so important: what is important are the Details.

The value to a user, and who that user might be

Any user would be able to review details of update process without strain on scrolling and memory.
