It's easy to forget detaching camera (via video companion)/microphone after a call.

The solution you'd like

An option to detach them automatically after some (configurable?) time. Detection of the idle time might be not trivial depending on applications used (some will keep the device open) - needs testing various approaches. Lets say it should work with:

• Jitsi in Firefox
• Jitsi in Chromium
• Google Meet in Chromium
• element-desktop

The value to a user and who that user might be

Less manual actions.

Perhaps treating it like a disposable permission, where it detaches when the target application or browser tab closes?
