reddit says "form submission failed" when try to login
hello so im using a old samsung whit android 6.0.1 and im trying to use redreader because i like it and the web page of reddit is heavy but when i try to login using redreader it says "form submission failed" what does that mean ive never seen something like that anyway it doesent let me login what do i do? please fix also i have downloaded the app from play store
Seems like a new issue others are running into also. Myself included. Brand new device with a fresh install of redreader. https://www.reddit.com/r/RedReader/comments/1kshq2t/login_not_working/
Thanks, I've reported the issue to Reddit.
Unfortunately there's nothing I can do personally to fix it, as the issue isn't with the app (we just show a web browser which goes to the Reddit login page).
Is the result any different if the OAuth login page is opened in an external browser instead of the WebView?
I finally managed to get around this by:
- Enable Tor (do not install Orbot, we're trying to make the network fail)
- Try to login, you'll get an error with the URL, copy it
- Back out and disable Tor, fully close RedReader
- Paste the URL into your web browser and authenticate RedReader, click open in app at the end to return to RedReader
- RedReader will say authentication successful, fully close RedReader again or it will get stuck in a loop
- Done!
If we could get a direct option to copy the link or open it in an external browser that would be quite helpful imo
