Text becomes unviewable after restart

Full disclosure - I'm using (instead of the Wemos,) LoLin nodemcu v3, using all the same pins as in the README, and it works! However, if I shut down or restart the device, it appears that it is working (web interface still fine), but it looks like the bottom of the text is only showing up on the very top row of LEDs. The only way to resolve it is to reset settings, power down, and push the reset button after powering up.

I had a similar issue, and thought it was a loose connection. Nope, it was just the cheap LED display that I got. To work around the issue, I just removed the USB power cable and put it back in a few times until the entire display lit up. Hope that helps.
