MySQL 5.7 Extended EOL has passed since October 2023
Hi,
Context I'm considering integrating this great component into a solution.
Problem Nevertheless, I noticed that Extended EOL for the DB has passed since end of last year. This means no more development, and more importantly, no more security patches (if you see otherwise don't hesitate to comment). In turn, the fact that no security patches are applied anymore means vulnerability risk for user data, which is a risk that can not be taken if you're doing real business.
The next MySQL LTS version is 8.0.x, but Premier Support ends on the 30th of April, 2025, really soon. The best fit candiate would be MySQL LTS 8.4.x, with Premier Support ending in 2029.
Solution So as to ease data migration and avoid any data loss issues, Use a 2 step migration path:
- First update Solution so that it uses MySQL 8.0.x.
- When most issues are ironed out, update Solution so that it uses MySQL 8.4.x.

Hi @soft4rchitecture,
We understand your concern of upgrading the PHP and MySql Versions in QloApps.
I want to inform you that the PHP and MySQL version upgrade is already in our roadmap and we have already planned to switch the QloApps PHP and MySQL versions to 8.x soon.
We can not provide you with any tentative release date for the same but we will surely inform you once the QloApps with upgraded PHP and MySql versions will be released.

Many months have passed, do you know which issues are blocking this? Have you tested with current PHP and MySQL? Is there a discussion where the community can help? QloApps cannot be currently installled anywhere because it requires outdated and unsafe software to run.
Hi @carlo-ztl, @soft4rchitecture,
QloApps is also released with the latest PHP and MySQL versions, and all libraries are updated according to the PHP version.
