Distant clouds don't render when using Chloride (Emb++) custom fog (Forge 1.20.1)

Open nfurlow opened this issue 3 months ago • 0 comments

Describe the bug

A clear and concise description of what the bug is

When using Chloride's custom fog feature to adjust the fog start and end points, clouds do not render in the distance, instead they only render above the area closest to the player. It seems like the fog is occluding the clouds somehow.

Versions: Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge 47.4.5 Better Clouds Forge Beta 1.3.35 YACL Forge 3.6.1 Embeddium 0.3.31 Chloride 1.7.2

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior

  1. Install Better Clouds, YACL, Embeddium & Chloride (Emb++) on a Forge 1.20.1 instance
  2. Default config has Chloride's custom fog enabled - observe the effect of fog on clouds
  3. Open Chloride config and change "customFog" to false - observe vanilla fog behavior

Expected behavior

A clear and concise description of what you expected to happen.

I would expect the full distance of clouds to be rendered along with the fog while using this feature - maybe the clouds could be rendered over the fog?
