[REQ] New rpickup teamnames and colors

Open blaps opened this issue 2 years ago • 6 comments

let's discuss changing rpickup teams being 'red (color 4) and 'blue' (color 13). This as an afterthought that many players use the color red as either enemy- or teamskin color. Assume you're on team red, and you're used to red enemyskins. There's a condradiction of colors, which can get confusing in situations.

I'm suggesting a different set of teamcolors, abandoning red/blue. Additionally, why not have more-than-two, just because it's fun with a little rotation?

Here's 5 new teamnames and teamcolors: Bone - color 10 0 Teal - color 11 Pink - color 6 Gold - color 5 12 Plum - color 8

They should contrast pretty well. Maybe the Pink vs. Plum could be at risk. Suggestions?

might be better just to move away from using colours for team names entirely, avoids any confusion no matter what skins you use

Hey BPS!

Are we not all use teamskins just like enemyskins?

PR #311 will take care of this

@blaps,

Could you address the comments given on the PR: https://github.com/QW-Group/ktx/pull/311

Thanks.

given that the goal is to avoid confusion with skins and to distinguish mix games.

colors

  • single color (majority of clans use two colors)
  • colors: 1 brown, 13 blue, 6 pink, 8 purple ... (prefer colors seldom used as skin color)

names

  • names: mix1, mix2, ... mixN (clear, obvious - readable in server browser, hub and demo listing)
  • always lowercase (easy to type, avoids confusion for charsets with only lowercase/uppercase glyphs)

Just to ensure this doesn't get lost in the conversation, in some game modes team name is more than cosmetic. For example in CTF with two teams, red and blue do not just define the team name, but also the flag each team is protecting.
