Delay when using Fn key as trigger

Hi!

When using the Fn key as trigger to switch between function keys or media keys, it switches correctly. But there is a delay of about 2 seconds so the icon in the status bar has already changed but the functionality has not until 2 seconds later which causes confusion. And prevents fast switching when you quickly need to go stop the music and come back to my function keys. Do you know why is this delay there?
