Why dont you crawl the payload yourself and set the environment vars? Should be easy-function. Or you declare variables with defined jpathes, of those you need.

Can you enable instances to be filled with json?

Only exportable struct-fields can be un/marshaled, because other ones are private. You know meaning of lower/upper-case of capital letter of struct-field-name?
