Parallelization for Simplify Network

Feature Request

As identified by @m4rz910, the simplify_network rule is not parallelized. Below is correspondence with Zach on this issue.

Separately as an FYI, I noticed a lot of time is spent in the simplify_network rule, and it seems to be only utilizing one CPU (despite my efforts to parallelize – via the config and snakemake commands).

Suggested Solution

Would be good to see if simplify network can be parallelized across compute cores.
