Missing industrial sector lpg demand

Open WeiAi-Energy opened this issue 9 months ago • 1 comments

Feature Request

build_demand.py line 2602-2608

    else:
        fuels = ("electricity", "heat", "cool", "space_heat", "water_heat")
        demands = demand_converter.prepare_multiple_demands(
            end_use, # residential, commercial, industry, transport
            fuels,
            sns=sns,
        )

excludes "lpg" from the fuels for industrial demand, making the final industrial demand consist only of electricity and heat.

Suggested Solution

Maybe process industrial sector separately.

Additional Info

Thanks for flagging, @WeiAi-Energy! This was done intentionally by me (and maybe a poor assumption!). I was not treating LPG as an end use fuel as I did not know whether it was used directly for heating/electricity (ie. the included end-uses as you mentioned) or as a feed stock application. Therefore, I chose to leave it out.

Lets leave this issue open though, and link it to #558 as that also discusses updating industrial end-use demands.
