Looks like the grammar needs to be upgraded.

lib2to3 is approaching deprecation: https://bugs.python.org/issue40360

I'm thinking about augmenting stdlib ast module to have some lib2to3 features. If this is of interest to you: https://mail.python.org/archives/list/[email protected]/thread/X2HJ6I6XLIGRZDB27HRHIVQC3RXNZAY4/ (No promises that I'll do the work of course, but I have high hopes)

This issue was opened long back. Any updates on this? Are there any plans to support 3.8?

If not, are there any good alternatives for this package?
