Protonvpn crashes on attempted launch on Debian Unstable

alright when I open protonvpn (running from the terminal so I can see why its crashing) the gui with the loading icon shows up momentarily, then it closes and the folowing error spits out.

im pretty sure i have libnm installed, and ive tried updating and rebooting my system so everything should be fine. protonvpn worked fine previously, this error only popped up with a recent update im pretty sure. screencap: https://youtu.be/Tg9dz-eNGSY

Same issue on Debian Testing.

protonvpn-gui version is 1.7.0-11. libnm0 version is 1.35.91-1.

protonvpn-cli is not affected by this issue.
