[Feature] Allow automatically connecting to VPN on certain networks

I run ProtonVPN on my router at home and it would be nice to be able to use the "Always On" feature to automatically connect to ProtonVPN on my android phone when I leave the house. I've read some people accomplish this with tasker and the OpenVPN app via intents, but I don't use Google Play Services on my phone so I can't purchase tasker (and I'd rather not use a proprietary app anyway).

iOS apps can do this using on demand configuration profiles, but I'm not sure if Android has something similar.

A Tasker plugin or at least surfacing an Intent that can be fired from Tasker or a shell script please!
