Can't see quest staff ( worgen )

Hi guys, can you explain me, when i'm doing quest Evacuate the Merchant Square / Salvage the Supplies , I can't see supplies ( boxes ) and all of the door already opened. Can see it only in gm mode. Something wrong ? Or my mistake?

hmmz are you using SkyFire DB Release 14? I've not updated my test box yet from 13 but both these are visible and doors are closed. sec and ill retest using newest db updates. if i remember correctly the supplies quest is a prequel to evacuation though.

EDIT: looks fine on my test daemon. not seeing this problem here, maybe others can confirm.

When i use earlier revision of DB ( can't see if it is 12-13, but i know that is older one ), quest working well. Recompile Core, redownloaded DB and install it all. Result - the same problem ((( Maybe you update wow launcher (don't update it for 6 month) or give me some advices how i can fix this problem?

k used clean full db release and your correct the phases got knocked to shit in 13 & 14 release evacuate merchant square shouldnt be visible until prequel quests are complete... players/quests are in wrong phase.

your english isn't that bad... but the downside is that this isn't my section of the project, Gilneas City is Raydeon's baby, as well as i don't do DBScripting.

now since Raydeon is on extensive afk status bcuz of IRL work, someone else with the knowledge and skills in both these areas can step up and fill this gap.

Heh)) Okay) Good luck in your work. We all know that is important to fix, but it is free Emulator, and no one can make somebody do something, let's just wait) If you need gilneas scripted now, you can use Mangos until SkyfFire fix it.

I'll be waiting for SkyFire fix)

Been working on TerrainSwap. Else the only way to make this work is to spawn all the gamegojects for each phase. When we spawned Gilneas we only tested it on a GM account and overlooked the normal player's side of it. When TerrainSwap is functional the mini map will work proper and all the objects will appear as they should. Gilneas will also need to be totally respawned with the correct maps. These functions and methods will need to be applied to the goblin starting area as well. Look for a completed patch in the near future as my time permits me to work on this. If you are in a real big hurry you can add the spawns for each phase but this is not the best way to do it. Please note Gilneas loads 3 maps at the same time on retail so TerrainSwap is needed for a proper working server.

@ScrWoW TerrainSwapping and Phases are WiP atm, these were hacked to work priorly, due to by default Gilneas City was working off wrong map. in master atm is basic impl of terrainswap and a push(hacked) of correct map for gilneas(temp) until we have it completely updated and corrected here. which shall replace the temp method. in teh city only 3 quests are broken. everything else is seemly working and spawned. in Gilneas2 scripting hasn't begun yet. last stand end quest needs fixed b4 we continue. this has to do with that click here to see paste

Thank you for reply, but my English level is not good enough ( or developer level ) to understand 100% of what you are writing. As i understand, you created test branch and test fixes there. And then just replace fixes in master (if they were good).Is it right? "in Gilneas2 scripting hasn't begun yet" - you mean that gilneas not fully working till today? And the last question, how you think when do you fix gilneas? ( i mean if you can just fix it, like it was before ) Tnak you for your reply.

About the Master and Branch:

in master there is a temp commit for terrain swapping and phasing, something i started out working on. in test branch (above) is another version made for a different patch, that was implemented to see which way was best to use, this testing branch will replace the one currently in master after we have it situated and correct. either way (master/branch) since we are now using the right Map for Gilneas, some obvious changes will take place.

About the reported bugs

As of start of this bug report the reported issues lie within the db, for those two quests. In Gilneas, as of my last test, only 3 quests were broken, 2 because of phase is wrong for the GameObjects (reported at top of page) and the other is a mount spell (spell phase). all of these are db.

lastly...

  • Gilneas2 is the map that is unscripted, the zone/area outside of the city.
    • hopefully that clears it all up for you ;)

Oh Thank you. Now i clearly understand you! So.. nice. But i tested with 12 and 13 release of db( hade the same issue ( than i replaced very old db, i've been using till now - and it is don''t work at all). So can i ask you about writing hacki method of fixing this quests ( not like auto-complete ;) )? And whats about kezan, we have something broken like it is in gilneas? kezan has not really been touched for awhile now. 12-13-14 releases of db has the issues you reported in it... AlterEgo & Raydeon is busy with IRL work, when they have the time the db will be fixed for this problem

i personally do not go that deep into db i cant stand it bores the crap out of me, and ill screw something up if left to it too long lol...80% chance it would be on purpose. And i definitely don't do the DBScripting, I'm not against it, but rather not rely on it.

so best thing to do is sit back and wait for one of our DBT (DataBase team) members to fix it.

no...no..never use autocomplete fixes, i rather have them remain broken until they get a proper fix, so we can see where issues are at... autocomplete's break more then they help. the "hack" that was imposed was to "push" or force Gilneas to use correct map and phase. 1342935589798 EDIT:

Okay) So, as you say, DB have some errors. I check and compare working DB (from old core i've using) and DB Release 14. gameobject scripts are the same :O EDIT: I gues, error is not in gameobject_template. Besides, i have old source and compare scripts of this gameobjects in core. They are still the same.
