Compress images across the website

Brief description of problem/feature

As developers working on the website, we have pretty fast internet connections, and can forget to take into account the importance of compressing images for fast page loads on worse internet connections.

Potential solution(s)

First, we should figure out a tool that we really like for compressing images for the web; Jon has recommended Adobe Photoshop's web export for PNGs. We should write up algorithmic instructions for this process on a wiki page so that interns can follow it as well!

Then we should do an audit of the website, reducing the size of tons of images on the site!
