Consider a workspace option for thumbnail display

Currently turning on thumbnails is done at the window level. This is useful and necessary, and the default is configurable.

But given the prominence in the UI and the importance thumbnails often have for tasks, it might be helpful if the user can switch on or off thumbnail display for all windows in the current workspace at once.
