Update all the models currently existing in python

Open colleenskemp opened this issue 3 years ago • 9 comments

All models that are currently implemented in python have some paces where those models need to be updated. This is a catch-all ticket for all of these models.

Every year - PD goes through and determines new estimates of things. The models are all updated with the new estimates. This ticket requests that all the old models have the most recent data.

@denised recommends that this be post-poned. Not a must have.

Note: we have a current "crop" of solutions that are being imported. We are managing this task in Excel rather than through the issues list because there are so many solutions to manage. If you would like to work on this project, contact us and we will get you the necessary access. (Note: a non-disclosure agreement is required to work on this task, since the Excel spreadsheets we are working with contain some proprietary information.)

I'm a new contributor who would like to attempt at this issue. I have a modicum of experience with python and excel. I submitted the form to get started found in the Contributing.md. 2022-03-30_08-09-43

Note: I'm currently using Sublime Text 3 as an IDE and could probably use some guidance setting up Jupyter since I've never used it before.

Welcome @parenteaun! We are delighted to have your help. If you would share your email with me (you can email me at [email protected]), I will get you set up with a solution to work on. This is a good article about getting installing and starting to use jupyter: https://realpython.com/jupyter-notebook-introduction/

@parenteaun --- you should have access to the spreadsheet and the excel files now. I've put you down for "Distributed Solar PV", aka solarpvroof. My experience suggests this one should work without a hiccup once you have your environment set up. If it doesn't, let me know, since getting started debugging issues in these can be a bit of a challenge. Thank you for volunteering to help!

Thank you for your interest, Melanie!

This project is not currently active. There is still a possibility it may become active again in the future, but there is no ongoing work at the moment.

thanks,
