Previews from "Popups" extension are hiding behind Leaflet maps

Dear all, one page in my Wiki displays a map with markers (by using the "Maps" Extension) as per the following example:

<display_map width=100% zoom=auto height=800px service=leaflet>
50.838992,6.73975   ~Some description   ~[[Wiki link to a page]]
...
</display_map>

When clicking on a marker in the map a popup opens up which lists the related links (in the above example shown as [[Wiki link to a page]]). When hovering over these links the Popups extension comes into play. These Popups actually seem to work, however, the popups are hiding behind the map, i.e. the map is overlapping the popups. Please see attached screen shot. It took a while before I realized this overlapping, before that I thought that the Popups aren't working at all in this map. I also found out that it's working fine with Google Maps, but obviously not with Leaflet maps. I want to stay with Leaflet because Google and their API/billing strategy annoys me. Furthermore my Wiki is not open and this conflicts with their free-of-charge policy.
