Unable to Log in - Possibly characters messing with the javascript

Description

After giving my instance, username and password the app starts to load the instance site. Instead of being logged in I get the message "Wrong Username or Password".

I don't get a prompt for my 2FA.

My password isn't won't hit the length limit as described in #4.

One possible reason could be that my password starts with a whitespace ( , 0x20) and contains a single quote (', 0x27). Both might interfere with the login process at app/src/main/java/nl/privacydragon/bookwyrm/StartActivity.java Line 131.
