On-console network traffic dumper for the Wii U
HokakuCafe
Applies IOSU patches to write network frames to a .pcap
file. Also dumps NEX account tokens, which are needed for packet decryption.
All files will be in the HokakuCafe
folder on the root of your SD Card.
The filename for the token will contain the Principal and Game ID: nexServiceToken-<pid>-<gameid>.bin
.
Usage
Homebrew Launcher
- Copy the
HokakuCafe.rpx
to thewiiu/apps
folder. - Open the HBL and launch HokakuCafe.
- Launch a game and the packets will be written to the SD.
Setup Module
The setup module works with both Tiramisu and Aroma ([ENVIRONMENT]
is a placeholder for the actual environment name).
- Copy the
30_hokaku_cafe.rpx
to thewiiu/environments/[ENVIRONMENT]/modules/setup
folder. - Launch a game and the packets will be written to the SD
Make sure to only remove the SD Card after powering off the system, to make sure all data has been written.
Configuration
The configuration is read from HokakuCafe/config.ini
. It uses the following format:

Enabled=True ; Disables or enables HokakuCafe, can either be True or False
[Net]
Mode=PRUDP ; Can be either ALL, IPV4, TCP, UDP or PRUDP
MaxPacketSize=0x800 ; The maximum size written to the file, larger packets will be truncated
Building
Install devkitPPC, devkitARM and wut.
Run make
(add SETUP_MODULE=1
to build the setup module).
