Shortcut to change current language

Open jkcsg opened this issue 11 months ago • 2 comments

I write documents in different languages and need an option to quickly change between them.

Currently, I have to click "Plugins / DSpellCheck / Change Current Language / ...". This is a lot of individual actions, especially when the number of sub menus from Plugins is long.

There is already a toolbar button to enable / disable spell checking. Is it possible to have a similar quick button to just change the language? It could be either a drop down menu, or a dedicated button per language or a button to cycle through the languages (most people will only use 2 or 3 anyways).

I use the "Customize Toolbar" Plugin, but it is not possible to add any sort of additional buttons for spell checking...

Not quite sure if this is enough for your use case, there is a way to bind Change Current Language to a shortcut using Settings->Shortcut Mapper...: Image

What it does is: language menu would appear as context menu where mouse is currently on the screen when pressing shortcut: Image

Not very common interface I would admit but I find it convenient. Might be useful to document this feature better.

Hi, thank you very much! Still, a toolbar icon would be cool, because you need to remember less, but I added the Shortcut and it helps me a lot. I did not know about the Shortcut mapper before, so this was a great tip!
