How can I get spelling suggestions for a manual spellcheck?

Without automatic spellcheck underlining turned on, I'd like to just perform a manual check and get spelling suggestions to click on and replace, etc. But there seems to be no way to do this? The suggestions only appear in the contextual menu if automatic checking is turned on :-(

This could be done but unfortunately not very intuitively:

1. Go to Settings->Shortcut Mapper->Plugin commands and assign some hotkeys for Find Next/Prev Misspeling and Show Suggestions Menu... (all could also be done through menu but it's cumbersome obviously)
2. Use those hotkeys to navigate between misspellings and use show menu hotkey to replace with suggestion.
