Philips 809 Channels Remain Unsorted When Uploaded (Channel Map 125)

Open Oxxmate opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

Hi,

As the title suggests, I cannot seem to get the channel list to sort correctly when uploaded back to the TV.

It appears correctly in ChanSort but after successful upload the channels remain unsorted.

I have uploaded 2-3x and power cycled the TV to avail.

I have deleted, redownloaded, amended, reuploaded multiple times with exactly the same results.

I have read that Philips TVs in the past only allow editing of favourites.

The issue I've found is any favourite lists created on the TV aren't downloaded to the USB drive. ChanSort > File > File Information says 'chanLst.bin: file not found in directory structure: Favorite.xml'

Favorite.xml is not in channellib or s2channellib either.

When a modified channel list is uploaded to the TV all previously created favourites disappear.

I have tried to apply my reference list to favourites, after saving and re-opening the channels are no longer shown as favourite in ChanSort.

I have been using a reference list from my old LG TV.

Attached is the channelmaps folder AFTER editing.

PhilipsChannelMaps.zip

Any assistance is appreciated.

If there is a Favorite.xml, it is in the ChannelList folder next to chanLst.bin. So far all exports with the ChannelMap_125 format that I received had a Favorite.xml file, but some older formats don't. When the file is missing, ChanSort won't create it (in its current version). I guess I should change this. I have no idea why your TV didn't export this file. You can try and add the Favorite.xml from the attached zip in your ChannelList folder, add some favorites and see if the TV accepts it.

Favorite.zip

In Format 125 ChanSort currently does change the order in the readable part of MtkChannelList.xml, but the TV seems to completely ignore this. There is an encrypted/encoded part inside that file too, which seems to be what the TV actually cares about. Unfortunately I have no means of editing that part.

Thanks for the reply.

I added the file into the folder, I was then able to see the favourites tabs in ChanSort.

ChanSort was still reporting the file was missing.

Everything saved and re-opened in ChanSort correctly yet nothing changed when uploaded to the TV.

Oddly, I did notice that when I create a favourites list on the TV it starts at 'Favourites 3' with no other favourites lists. It would appear I can only create a single list of favourites too.

I think I might wait for a software update and see if that changes anything.

Appreciate your assistance.
