RFC: WordPress Plugin For Integration

Is your feature request related to a problem?

Kadeo uses PostHog for its clients some of which use WordPress.

We'd like to build an integration to insert the PostHog snippet and do other stuff.

This issue will serve as a RFC to understand what the community would like to see.

We will eventually preform a build under our repo once we have gained the community interest.

Describe the solution you'd like

We are thinking of the following feature set:

• Insertion of the PostHog snippet for both hosted and on prem installs.
• Hooks into other WordPress plugins to track events such as contact form 7 events
• Exposing serverside actions as per WordPress standards for other plugins to call as well.

Describe alternatives you've considered

We reviewed the options in the PostHog doco and agree that there is no easy solution.

So we shall build it!

• This was discussed in this Slack thread
• Kadeo is an advisory firm focusing in Open Source tooling
• We'll be building this for our clients use and would love community involvement.
