We’ve had a lot of cool offsites. Here are some of the offsites that have recently happened or are planned for this next year:

Platform James Greenhill August 15 - 19 Small Team
Product Analytics + Session Recording Marius Andra September 24 - 30 Small Team Italy TBD
Experimentation Eric Duong October 17 - 21 Small Team
Marketing Cory Watilo November 1 - 6 Small Team Austin
Plops Grace McKenzie Nov 29 - Dec 2 Small Team Paris
Full Team Grace McKenzie May 2023 TBD All Team
Engineering Grace McKenzie Oct 2023 TBD Big Team

It would be nice to have a webpage that shows off how much fun we have. In this small team page mock, I’ve been adding a block for offsites that this particular team held/joined:

Even better would be to have a page (maybe in our handbook?) that catalogs all of our historical offsites - a mini-journal, if you will. This would serve as both a recruiting tool, and as something for us to all enjoy as memories.

Information needed

  • Location
  • Date (month)
  • Who attended
    • Full team
    • Big team
    • Small team(s)
  • Photos
    • 1-5 photos we can display
  • Description (optional)
    • A write-up of what we had planned/what came out of the offsite
  • Hackathon demos
    • Things that were presented (and what came of them)
  • Attendees
    • Individual team members (Sometimes we have people from other teams attend, so this should be assigned by team member, not by full team, especially as the teams change over time)
    • Names of teams that attended

Here's a comprehensive list of all offsites and small team offsites

Hi team, I came across this PR and the corresponding issue about the Offsites section in the handbook. I'd be interested in picking this up, finishing the component work, cleaning up the MDX integration, and backfilling a couple of offsites to get the system live.

Before I dive in: is this something you still see value in maintaining? If not, happy to drop it, just want to avoid duplicating effort on something that's been intentionally paused.

Thanks!
