Art request - Onboarding Completed Certificate

Outline

We’d love to create a fun, witty, and shareable “Certificate of Onboarding Completion” that we can send to customers once they finish the PostHog onboarding process.

The goal is to:

  • Celebrate their completion in a light-hearted, memorable way.
  • Encourage them to share it on social media (especially LinkedIn).
  • Make it feel “official” while still maintaining our playful PostHog brand tone.

We tested some AI-generated mockups to explore tone and layout direction (see attached), and while rough, they helped us narrow in on a vibe that feels PostHoggy (excuse the inaccuracies though!).. playful but not childish, creative but not chaotic, and definitely not boring.

We imagine this certificate being sent via email at the end of onboarding.

Deadline & Priority

It's not a blocker, so whenever you have the time to dedicate to this. As soon as it's ready, we'll start using it.

Technical requirements

Landscape, PNG probably (and we'll convert to JPEG where needed), and whatever else you think would work best for a certificate.

Additional comments

Some elements we really liked from our mockups (see attached for visuals):

  1. Hedgehog character – ideally holding a certificate of some kind.
  2. Witty copy – Example lines:
    • “You survived the PostHog onboarding process”
    • “Your reward? Eternal bragging rights and this very official-looking JPEG.”
  3. Stamp or badge – Something like a “PostHog Certified” seal to make it feel delightfully over-the-top.
  4. Handwritten signature – "onboarding team" in a playful script font for extra flair.

Please feel free to take creative liberty here, this is meant to be fun and feel very PostHog and walk the line of "serious end of onboarding process" (which ends after their first 8 weeks with us) with a "completely unserious certificate that is basically useless :D"

Here are some funny taglines we came up with (but feel free to choose something else too if you have better ideas!):

Congratulations!
You’ve completed the PostHog onboarding process.
Your reward? Eternal bragging rights, one spicy hog hug, and this very official-looking JPEG. :sparkles:

---

Congratulations!
You’ve completed the PostHog onboarding process.
You are now:
- 100% onboarded
- 0% more employable
- 1000% more hog-some

---

Congratulations!
You’ve completed the PostHog onboarding process.
Certified Hog-tician: Officially knows their way around the spiky stuff.

Thank you!

Hey @lottiecoxon @dphawkins1617 just curious when do you estimate this might get looked at so we can prioritize it accordingly with the onboarding team? 🙏 ty!

I can get to this next week, very sorry for the delay!

okay so I love the idea of the surviving PostHog certificate but thought we could make it much more visually interesting and funny for people to share and it be interacted with.

SO I drew up some options of hedgehogs surviving an island - kinda like castaway or lord of the flies kinda vibes.

I will have a think and decide on the best one and make it high res asap

OKAY had a ponder and think this format will be better - would be good to get some customisation here so its personal to each person who finishes onboarding - would need some code help to get this done

Hey @lottiecoxon if that helps from our perspective it doesn't have to be personalized with the name of the person and/or company. Person might also be tricky because normally we'd email it to multiple people (all the admins in the organization).

So if there is a version of this where it's generalized, that would work great for us!

@danieldanilov how is this?

lottiecoxon avatar Nov 05 '25 16:11 lottiecoxon

@lottiecoxon this is great!!! Thank you :D

I think we can definitely move forward with this one <3

Would we just copy the jpeg or would there be any additional files we should keep in mind?

woohooo! 👏

the personalization with the name would actually be pretty cool / a nice touch. we have the ability to export images (or PDFs) on the website using customized text.

what's the volume we're looking at here? depending on how you want to do it, we could even make an internal page on the site where you can add a list of names and emails and we can auto-generate the images and send them out via email individually.

Hey @corywatilo! Usually, we reach out to a group of owners/admins, so it's rarely just one name.

I really like the idea of customization; however, I'd love to make sure it's as effortless as possible for the Onboarding team.

We could even make an internal page on the site where you can add a list of names and emails, and we can auto-generate the images and send them out via email individually.

This is really fancy and indeed sounds quite effortless. We were actually quite jealous of Sales having their own pages;)

Could we make sure that the diploma is sent from the [email protected] address?

Hey @corywatilo! Just following up to make sure if you need anything else from us?
