Route transitions and animations in polymer?

Hi Polymer team!

The HNPWA looks really good and performs great as well. Buuuuuuuuut...

I am noticing that it is missing route transitions and animations and the like, as well as a white flash upon initial load of every pre-cached route. So my question is a bit larger than just this particular app, but are there any plans for polymer to address app transitions and animations in the polymer library? I know that neon animated pages was once the move, but I have since been informed that it is not currently recommended.

@justinfagnani mentioned on the twitterverse that I should default to the web animations API and CSS animations as well, which I don't disagree with at all, #usetheplatform, woohoo! but I'm curious if there is another abstraction and/or library that integrates well with @polymer, or if @polymer is planning on updating and/or replacing neon animated pages with other cool stuff, etc, etc, etc...

Just trying to get closer to a true app experience, and I'm noticing that animation and continual context in general is one of the last areas that could use some work to get there, at leasts in my opinion :-)

Anyway, thank you for all your amazing work on the web platform :-)
