add new-mega(?)
Hello PokéAPI Team,
First of all, thank you for maintaining this incredible resource. I am currently developing a Pokédex application using your API, and it has been an amazing experience.
Now that Pokémon Legends: Z-A has been officially released (October 16, 2025), I noticed that the new Mega Evolutions and regional forms introduced in the game (e.g., Mega Dragonite, Mega Typhlosion, etc.) are not yet available in the endpoints.
I completely understand that extracting and verifying new game data takes time and effort from the community. I would just like to ask if there is an estimated roadmap or timeline for when we might expect these new forms to be added to the database.
I am currently handling these forms manually in my project, but I look forward to switching to the official API data once available.
Thank you again for your hard work!
Best regards, Diego
No roadmap - we rely on community contributions. If the data is reliable we'll merge it.
because the photo are available online on pokewiki, that's why I asked when they were inserted into the API. sorry for my english 🙏🏻😅
No worries! Yeah if you have some time to spare, you could try adding the data to the API by yourself. It's a matter of filling some CSVs and adding the sprites of pokemon with the correct name in the sprites repo
@diegocozzii - if you want to prepare a list for me of what is missing, I can work on adding the missing data.
@digitalghost-dev pics of • Mega Clefable • Mega Victreebel • Mega Starmie • Mega Dragonite • Mega Meganium • Mega Feraligatr • Mega Skarmory • Mega Froslass • Mega Emboar • Mega Excadrill • Mega Scolipede • Mega Scrafty • Mega Eelektross • Mega Chandelure • Mega Chesnaught • Mega Delphox • Mega Greninja • Mega Pyroar • Mega Malamar • Mega Barbaracle • Mega Dragalge • Mega Hawlucha • Mega Drampa • Mega Falinks • Mega Zygarde These are the ones available on pokemon ZA, there are others that have been released but have not yet been added (they belong to the dlc that must be released)
Okay, I can start working on this. @Naramsim - do all current images come from Bulbapedia? Is that the preferred site?
thank u, the image on bulbapedia are very nice if u want use that
I have created this PR in the sprites repository. I've never uploaded sprites before so I believe this is the correct way of doing this. @phalt / @Naramsim - let me know if this is correct.
I'm going to try to add the new dex.. @diegocozzi. I can try to add in the megas too if I can figure it out.
@DavidJGrimsley - the data for new Megas has been added already in this commit and I have a PR open already for images.
Ok cool, that is awesome. I was actually talking about the mega dimension dlc pokedex. I'm trying to add it to my app PokePages and I figured I'd update it here too. I do have my own ts file I use for the dex so it's bundled with the app but I use PokeApi for some stuff. It's so cool!
I'm trying to research the new dex as it gets dumped officially and I'll make a pr with that dex and the megas. I'll leave the pics to someone else probably.. warning I'm new at prs and may make mistakes but I'm here to help and I'm good at following patterns.
@DavidJGrimsley, oh okay, didn't realize you were talking about the new DLC. The images belong in Sprites repo so the data will need to be added there. @Naramsim is checking out the current PR I made but I can get the new Megas when Bulbapedia has their images.
the new megas are not been released, but are only leaked. @DavidJGrimsley I'm developing my own version of the Pokedex that I'd like to make public as soon as possible. It contains minigames and much more. I saw your site and it's very nice, maybe I'll revisit the graphics but overall it's a nice job
My general vibe with leaked data is - even if it is confirmed, can we wait? Is there really a rush? I'd like to avoid releasing incorrect data.
Hi @digitalghost-dev ! I replied to your PR over at the sprites repo. There's a change of folder needed. As for the leaks, I'd wait as Paul suggested.
I definitely would only put confirmed stuff in a PR. I would use a datamine dump just to save on typing out over a hundred pokemon names.
Austin John already put out a video with all the pokemon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyBF5pSRz_Y but he uses the info from Serebeii which he gets from datamines I'm figuring out.
I'm curious where do you all normally get the list/info from? The pokedex in-game?
And no it's not really a rush because I have like no users but I'd like to start supporting the DLC for my app ASAP and I don't have the DLC or any extra dough for it unfortunately.
PS @phalt thanks to you and all the contributors for this api. It's wonderful and I'd love to help.
In the past we relied on game dumps provided by Veekun. Nowadays we rely on contributors that usually take the info from the top websites
Ok so just what I was talking about. I never said leaks. I think ya'll thought I meant that by datamine. I'll start working on it soon.
