How to backdate schematics from 1.11 to earlier version?

Open Flexico opened this issue 7 years ago • 2 comments

I'm trying to move my house from a vanilla 1.11.2 world to a modded 1.10.2 world, but all of the entities get deleted (and signs go blank, and chests empty, and command blocks reset). I figured out by googling that it's a result of the entity/blockentity names have been changed in the game's code. Is there a way to convert a schematic, or even a whole world, back to the old names? I feel this should be a feature of MCEdit. Come to think of it, is there a way to convert worlds to pre-1.8 item ID's? That would also be useful.

Sorry for the late answer.

Currently, MCEdit do not support backporting. Actually, it does not exactly support older version schematics into newer worlds. The names and data are converted by the game.

Also, MCEdit do not support modded worlds which contain new blocks/entities...

Thanks for the info. And in my experience, mod-added blocks may not render in MCEdit, but copying them around works fine, as even though MCEdit doesn't know what the blocks are, it keeps all the data intact, so it still works.
