New term request:Canopy width
Definition:Width of the canopy Method:Average canopy width of three/five representative plants of an accession. Scale:cm
The expression 'three/five' will not make sense to most people. Be as explicit as possible.

Definition: Width of the canopy Method: Average canopy width of randomly selected plants in each individual plots. Scale:cm
the term request is for the trait "canopy width" only, not for its measurement method and its scale. So "Average canopy width of three/five representative plants of an accession." is not meant to be added in TO. It is addressed to the lentil breeding community and I doubt it does not make sense to them.
Remark: "canopy width" could actually match with TO:0006062 "plant width" though the TO definition is not the definition of a trait but of a variable: "The average width of a plant measured across an axis such as the main stem/stalk."
'canopy width' sounds like a trait of a population of trees, e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canopy_%28biology%29

Soybean has a trait “canopy width” which is the width of the canopy of a soybean plant. Canopy width can also apply to a single tree as in “the tree’s canopy was”. Foresters also use “crown size” or “crown width” to refer to the area occupied by the leaves and branches of a tree. This is an important parameter in urban landscaping design. There is also a term “crown extent” which appears to be the circumference of the crown of a tree. Crown height, is the hight of a tree at its tallest point, which might be equivalent to “plant height”.

We may also say the soybean term "canopy width" is similar to lentil term "canopy width"
