Lateral Branching System (LBS)
Lateral branching system is a photosynthetic organ, lateral to main axis and may display both cauline and foliar nature. A lateral organ must present at least some foliar parts defined morphologically or anatomically to be qualified as LBS. When the whole LBS is foliar, it is named a leaf.
