Hardware Controller Crash: Camera/Python Service Error & All Controls Unresponsive
Hello,
I am experiencing the generic camera/python service error message in the Node-RED Dashboard's 'Optic Configuration' tab.
Error Message Displayed: "If you see this, there probably is an error either with your camera or with the python service. Please try restarting your machine."
Symptoms & Diagnosis:
- I have tried restarting the machine, but the error persists.
- All manual hardware controls are unresponsive:
- The Focus Adjustment buttons (UP/DOWN) do not move the focus motor.
- The Fluidic Manual Manipulation (Pump) controls do not activate the pump.
- Conclusion: This strongly suggests that the Python Hardware Controller service (the backend) has crashed upon startup.
Required Action:
I have followed the troubleshooting guide and downloaded the backend logs.
Could you please help me diagnose the cause of the crash?
Thank you for your assistance!
Have you had any luck resolving this issue? I've tried every suggestion I can find but still no luck. The hardware controller doesn't seem to be generating any logs I can examine. Thanks for passing along anything you might have learned.
@douglasgomesgoncalves-stack please provide as many details as you can provide about hardware and software
The logs look truncated, could you try again sharing the logs after having reproduced the issue and restart the PlanktoScope (via the restart button in the GUI)
@jsides55 please file a separate issue with as many details as you can provide about hardware and software
