no sound

Open jolllis opened this issue 9 years ago • 3 comments

Hi, Ive found an issue where some sound doesnt work.

I created the video with handbrake using AAC passthrough - This shows as channel 6 in the videojs metadata, but when you click on the window and show controls, theres no audio button and sounds doesnt play. Other videos created with default handbrake settings, which shows as channel 2, works fine.

is this a bug or is aac passthrough unsupported and I need to re-encode the videos?

Hello, You can try using the latest version of VideoJS, by updating the plugin to the next release. https://github.com/xbgmsharp/piwigo-videojs#installation However to my knowledge VideoJS does not support AAC passthrough.

Thanks for your reply. I have been using v2.7.a which I believe is the latest. I have converted the videos using default handbrake settings and will upload today so all should be ok. Perhaps the aac passthrough could be added to the wiki in case theres other people trying who don't know. Other than that, videojs is brilliant!!! thanks to everyone whos contributing!

Hi, v2.7.a is the latest public release. By using git, you can test and use the next release v2.8.0. There is quite a few changes, https://github.com/xbgmsharp/piwigo-videojs/compare/v2.7.a...master You can installing following this procedure, https://github.com/xbgmsharp/piwigo-videojs#installation

Regarding the wiki, I ad a note regarding AAC passthrough. There is information on how to convert your video, https://github.com/xbgmsharp/piwigo-videojs/wiki/How-to-add-videos#issue-content-you-know
