Despite enabling AAudio in plexamp it still doesn't work without legacy mode.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've followed the instructions and have also done the work to enable enhanced detection but it doesn't activate/work unless I've enabled legacy mode (which fortunately does work on my device - a pixel 6 pro)
I can confirm the issue on a Samsung Galaxy s10 with Android 12 stock rom
Same here... Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 PRO Android 12, MIUI 14
Not the solution you were hoping for, but it is removed from the list of supported music players. It is up to the Plexamp developers to add support for external equalizer applications.
FYI after a bit of prompting via Twitter, plexamp now supports proper broadcast audio sessions (and therefore wavelet finally!!)
As of the below version: https://forums.plex.tv/t/plexamp-release-notes/221280/61
Can confirm that with both audio APIs and in legacy and not legacy mode the audio doesn't get processed. Phone: Oppo find X3 lite
Still Working for me:
- Wavelet 23.09, Legacy mode Off
- Plexamp 4.8.4, Audio Interface AAudio
- Google Pixel 7, Android 14
(It actually works with either Audio Interface selected in Plexamp)
The issue at the moment is that Plexamp sends the wrong information. To be specific, it does broadcast an audio session ID that does not belong to the audio actually playing. If this is fixed, Plexamp can be added back to the list of supported music players.

I have the same plexamp and wavelet version as you but my phone has android 13 and it doesn't work in both normal and legacy mode. Where did you download the programs?
Google Play store, Also works fine if I switch e.g. to Spotify and back to Plexamp.
if it make s a difference Plexamp is playing back music on a Plex server not from Tidal

Im playing from a Plex server too and I managed to fix the issue. I opened Spotify and the effects worked so then I opened Plexamp with Spotify open and it started to process the audio from Plex and now even if I close and reopen the app without Spotify it processes the audio when I'm not in legacy mode.
@priceaj @chicco-carone Plexamp sometimes sends the wrong session ID. If it does, you will see options appear in Wavelet, but you won't hear any difference. A possible workaround could be to kill Plexamp.
