Windows 11 and GTK Bugs

Description

  1. Pinta with its new gtk interface has lost the ability to areo snap to fit screen space on windows.

  2. GTK programs in general usually have a black bar around them in windows due to Nvidias drivers. I'm not sure how far spread this is.

  1. With Nvidia Gsync GTK can get a low refresh rate as well which looks odd.

Anyways I have seen this in other programs like Cartridges so this one is likely out of the scope of the Pinta project, but I did want to bring awareness to it.

Version Windows 11, Nvidia, Pinta 3.0.1

Thanks! There have been a couple bug reports already for these (#1476 and #1465), although I haven't heard a report of the Gsync issue - is there an upstream bug report for that in GTK's bug tracker?

There isn't too much we can do about these other than wait for updated GTK versions

Can confirm that this also happens with an AMD GPU (6900XT) on 2560x1440 (100% scaling) Image

So apparently this is not an issue only with nvidia
