Editable text objects

Once you type some text, it's baked into the currently selected layer. You cannot edit it again; you have to nuke the layer, create a new one, and then type again. Instead, it would be great to have text layers you can edit with the text tool at any time later.

Text can actually be re-edited until you see the Text - Finalize item in the history view, e.g. after making any other edits to the layer. The UI around it could be improved though since the Ctrl+Click to re-edit is not easily discoverable, and the text tool doesn't create new layers automatically.

Well, the point of editable text objects is that you can edit them at any time later :) If I added some text and then decided to crop, I still may want editing the text.

Indeed, something like that would require a much larger rework of how the "re-editable" tools like the text and shape tools currently work though
