Searching info about AppleIntelSNBGraphics (Intel HD3000)

Hi, I know this quite unrelated, but I can't find any info about editing parameters of AppleIntelSNBGraphics.

The Apple HD3000 driver is limiting the output in HDMI to 1920x1200 max. But, after seeing this https://discussions.apple.com/message/25831860#25831860 , I'm pretty sure that I can apply the same "patch", increase the framebuffer size, to get to my bigger resolution (2560x1080).

The problem is, I have no idea where to begin, where to search. I already spent hours searching that on internet but no luck. So I thought maybe you know where to begin. I'm not asking for the solution, I just need to know the procedure to reverse engineer that binary file.
